On the Lanser Plateau above Innsbruck, the traditional health resort has been carefully renovated and expanded – in the very place where the LANS Med concept originated. The existing facility has been given a redesigned entrance area with reception, catering and lounge areas, as well as optimised therapy and diagnostic rooms. To the south of the main building, a modern, oval-shaped structure comple-ments the campus and blends naturally into the topography and tree population.

The architecture responds precisely to the climate, view and privacy: a wooden façade with differently designed balconies and side slats provides wind protection and con-trols the incidence of light. An extensively greened roof garden extends the alpine meadow landscape over the building and connects to private terraces. The base level houses bathing and sauna areas as well as indoor and outdoor pools with saltwater; above, light, calm materials organise spacious rooms and suites for a relaxing stay.

The choice of materials and design consistently follow principles of health and sustainability: low-emission building materials, lots of visible wood and a reduced, natural colour and material palette promote regeneration and well-being.
