At the southwestern entrance to St. Moritz, the new Klinik Gut completes the historic spa ensemble of the Bäderzentrum. Positioned between the Kempinski Hotel and the Heilbad St. Moritz, the compact, three-storey building provides a contemporary medical facility that continues the site’s therapeutic tradition. Its clear geometry, warm timber façade and panoramic glazing lend the structure a calm civic presence while anchoring it in the Alpine landscape. Within, a highly efficient layout consolidates emergency medicine, diagnostics, surgery and inpatient care under one roof. The central treatment floor houses the 24-hour emergency unit, imaging and operating theatres, while the upper levels accommodate twenty-four inpatient rooms overlooking the Engadin valley.
Constructed with prefabricated timber façade elements, the clinic combines technical precision with regional character. Bright wooden floors and natural light create a non-technical, restorative atmosphere. Meeting the Swiss Minergie® Eco Standard, the building ensures low energy use and high comfort. As part of Graubünden’s decentralised healthcare network, Klinik Gut strengthens the canton’s medical infrastructure and access to specialised care. Beyond its clinical role, it also serves as a social meeting point for residents and visitors alike, centred around the publically accessible restaurant, which opens the clinic to the wider community.
