Rising 146 m above Munich’s Olympic Park, the „Uptown“ Tower asserts itself as the city’s tallest building, a singular vertical marker within the skyline. Its taut glass façade evokes the clarity of a stretched membrane, balancing sculptural precision with technical refinement. Custom glazing filters solar radiation and minimises heat gain while maintaining a striking lightness, and discreet circular vents punctuate the surface to enable natural ventilation across the full height – an elegant synthesis of form and performance. At its summit, the tower frames views across Munich to the distant Alps, with a roof terrace that lifts the experience above the city grid.
The tower anchors a wider campus composed of four low-rise buildings gathered beneath a sweeping lamella roof. Together, they form a cohesive ensemble that integrates workplace, amenity and urban landscape. At ground level, a 3,000 m² pine grove encircles the development, creating a rare woodland buffer in the urban field and introducing a quiet counterpoint to the intensity of the city. This juxtaposition of vertical presence and horizontal calm exemplifies a new typology for corporate architecture: technologically advanced, environmentally responsive and attuned to its civic setting. As headquarters, Uptown Munich transcends the role of office tower to become a distinct place within the city.
