The Cloud One Hotel completes a decisive chapter of Düsseldorf’s urban repair. Standing at Joachim-Erwin-Platz, one of the city’s busiest thresholds, it marks the final puzzle piece in the transformation of the inner city’s northern entrance. Its curved façade reshapes the square, opening new vistas towards the Schauspielhaus and establishing a measured dia-logue with Kö-Bogen II. More than an addition to the skyline, it ties together theatre, park, and commercial centre, anchoring a coherent civic ensemble at the heart of Düsseldorf.

Conceived under supergreen® principles, the building fuses hotel, office, and retail functions within a compact, high-performing structure. A double-skin façade of aluminium, timber, steel, and glass ensures transparency and thermal efficiency along the street, while shielding the urban bustle with acoustic precision. Toward the interior, full-height glazing reveals a lush courtyard planted as a green retreat, balancing metropolitan intensity with calm. In its dual character – urban and intimate – the Cloud One Hotel exemplifies how con-temporary architecture can complete a fragmented place, contributing both environmental intelligence and civic resonance to the evolving city.
