Bonatzbau, Stuttgart: Topping out Ceremony

The Bonatzbau reaches its next milestone. We celebrate the topping out and the people who made it possible: the builders, engineers and craftspeople who brought precision and patience to every stone, beam and joint.

Among those marking the occasion were Jens Borgschulte of Ed. Züblin AG who honoured the building’s legacy and the teamwork behind its renewal; Ralf Thieme, Member of the Board at DB InfraGO AG who described the Bonatzbau as “a model for the station of the future”; and Stuttgart’s Lord Mayor Dr Frank Nopper who called it “the gateway to one of the most architecturally striking railway stations in the world.”

By late 2026, the Bonatzbau will reopen as part of Stuttgart’s new main station - bright, barrier-free and home to more than thirty retail and dining spaces along with a 150-key hotel.
